Nomads Hit the Sands: A New Club Guided by Elite Experience

A new chapter in U.S. beach soccer is being written right on the sand. NMD (Nomads) Beach Soccer has officially entered the scene, bringing fresh energy, clear purpose, and a bold vision for the future of the sport. Co-founded by U.S. Women’s Beach Soccer National Team players Ali Hall and Marissa Vasquez, the club arrives with a mission that is as intentional as it is ambitiousto help grow beach soccer by creating real pathways, real opportunities, and a stronger competitive ecosystem.

From day one, NMD Beach Soccer was built to be part of the solution. For beach soccer to truly evolve, the game needs more teams, more access points, and a deeper pool of players competing at a high level. Nomads steps into this space to raise standards while expanding opportunity, and build structures that support both youth development and professional ambition.

Building Pathways, Raising Standards

NMD Beach Soccer is focused on creating new routes into the sport for players who want more than occasional competition. By establishing both academy and professional environments, the club aims to contribute to a healthier, more sustainable beach soccer landscape in the U.S. One where talent is developed with purpose, and players are given a platform to grow.

The vision is simple: increase participation, improve quality, and give athletes a place to belong.

Why “Nomads”?

The name Nomads captures the essence of the club and the sport itself. Beach soccer has always existed at the crossroads of cultures and coastlines, a game shaped by movement, creativity, and expression. Not all who wander are lost. As Nomads, the club embraces exploration and connection, carrying the game forward while honouring its roots.

This philosophy is reflected in how the club approaches the sport: expressive play, confidence on the ball, and an environment where joy and creativity are not just encouraged, but expected.

“Beach soccer has always been about freedom, creativity, and connection. With Nomads, we want to give players a place to explore, play and belong—no matter their background or experience.”
Ali Hall, Co-Founder, NMD Nomads Beach Soccer

More Than Competition

At its core, the club is about more than results. The club’s mission is to promote beach soccer while helping establish a new professional pathway for athletes who dream of playing at the highest level. The beach offers something unique, a space where players can rediscover confidence, freedom, and the pure love of the game. Nomads aims to play differently, not only in style but in spirit, prioritising community, development and intention in every kick.

A Global Outlook from Day One

Although newly formed, the club is already thinking globally. In its first year, the club launched an international initiative in partnership with the Oray Foundation in Kenya, supporting the early stages of building a beach soccer field. The project is designed to create access and opportunity for young players in the region and reflects the Nomads’ belief that the game can be a powerful connector across borders.

This is what Nomads truly represents, using soccer as a bridge between cultures, communities, and shared ambition.

What’s Next

This year, Nomads will host U.S.-based tryouts to form both a professional team and an academy team, laying the foundation for structured competition and long-term development. The club will also be led by Head Coach Kierra Scalercio, a former beach soccer player whose experience and understanding of the game will help define the Nomads’ identity from the outset.

NMD Beach Soccer is officially here. Built with purpose, driven by community, and guided by a belief in what beach soccer can become, Nomads enters the scene ready to grow the game both at home and on the international scene.
