The weekend gathering aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by deaf children and showcase the incredible potential of inclusive beach soccer, marks a significant milestone in ÊKHÔ Sport’s journey, following the recent announcement of their collaboration with the Beach Soccer Foundation which will enable ÊKHÔ Sport leverage the foundation’s global resources, further amplifying their impact and reach.
Founded in 2020 by Georges Kapin Tame and his wife Elodie Rossignol, ÊKHÔ Sport has been a beacon of hope for deaf and hard-of-hearing children. Based in Uccle, the organisation offers a safe and fun environment for these children to engage in physical activities, promoting social inclusion and self-confidence.
The event was a testament to ÊKHÔ Sport’s commitment to innovation and accessibility. Leveraging cutting-edge teaching tools, such as connected watches and visual maps, the organisation has developed a unique approach to communication on the field. This pioneering method combines technology and sports, enabling deaf children to participate fully and thrive.
David Mames, representing Beach Soccer Belgium presented an award to ÊKHÔ Sport, recognising their tireless efforts to include deaf children in sports. This milestone marks a significant step towards a more inclusive and compassionate sporting community.
