ÊKHÔ Sport, a pioneering organisation on inclusive sports education, has appointed David Mames as its representative for inclusive Beach Soccer activities. This strategic moves aims to promote and develop Beach Soccer opportunities for deaf children, leveraging ÊKHÔ Sport’s innovative technology and Mames’s expertise.
David Mames, head of the Beach Soccer academy in Brussels and national coach of the Belgian Beach Soccer team, has been instrumental in introducing Beach Soccer to ÊKHÔ Sport’s. Over several years, Mames has worked closely with ÊKHÔ Sport, empowering children to discover and develop their passion for the sport.
As the representative of inclusive Beach Soccer activities, Mames will promote the project for deaf children nationally and internationally, and enhance the structure’s work on the ground, leveraging his expertise. This partnership will also strengthen ÊKHÔ Sport’s collaboration with Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), the governing body for the sport.
This appointment marks a significant milestone for ÊKHÔ Sport, promoting increased accessibility for deaf children to access and enjoy Beach Soccer. This advancement aligns with Goal 10 of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, specifically reducing inequalities and ensuring equal opportunities for all, regardless of ability or disability.
Mames’s international reputation will amplify ÊKHÔ Sport’s message, inspiring other organisations to adopt inclusive sports education models. He will also train and mentor coaches, ensuring the sustainability and growth, thereby fostering a lasting legacy of accessibility and equality in sports.
