Beach Soccer Stars 2023 Award: Celebrating Nine Years of Excellence.

The Beach Soccer Stars is an annual award ceremony organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW). Starting from its inception November 2014, it’s a gala event that takes place every year in Dubai, except 2020 when it did not hold.

Often referred to as the Ballon D’Or of beach soccer, it gathers current and former players, coaches, officials, and prominent figures within the sport. At this glittering event, awards are presented across various categories. And over time, the ceremony has expanded to include accolades for the Best Women’s Player and a special recognition for a legendary figure in the sport.

The 2023 award is scheduled for 12th February 2024 at Dubai’s Museum of the Future and broadcasted live on BSWW TV. Fellow national team captains and coaches from federations vote for who they want to be crowned best of the year and BSWW reveal a shortlist with the most votes prior to the ceremony. The 2023 awards revealed a list of 190 nominees, acknowledging the widespread appeal and participation in beach soccer across the world.

This level of global representation emphasises the sport’s ability to transcend borders and cultures, making it a universally recognised and cherished game. While nominations reflect regional dominance and prowess within specific continents, for instance, European nations such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Ukraine boast numerous nominations across different categories, underscoring the strong beach soccer culture and talent pool within Europe. Nations from South America, including Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay equally exhibit their depth of talent and excellence in the sport.

Similarly, the list also sheds light on emerging regions and rising stars in beach soccer. Nations like Iran, and Belarus feature prominently, indicating the sport’s growing popularity and development in regions where it might not have historically been a primary focus. This signifies the sport’s increasing global footprint and the emergence of new talent hubs.
