Beach Soccer returns to the African Beach Games!

Beach soccer enthusiasts across Africa have reason to celebrate as the much-loved sport makes a grand comeback to the African Beach Games. Following its success in the inaugural 2019 edition held in Sal, Cape Verde, beach soccer will once again take centre stage in both the men’s and women’s categories.

The 2023 African Beach Games, scheduled to take place in the scenic coastal city of Hammamet, Tunisia, from June 24th to 30th, will serve as the perfect platform for the continent’s finest beach soccer talent to showcase their skills and compete for glory. Expressing his enthusiasm for this year’s edition, Joan Cuscó, President of Beach Soccer Worldwide, remarked;

We are thrilled to be back in the beautiful African continent. Our commitment to the development of beach soccer in Africa remains unwavering, and we extend our gratitude to ANOCA for their continuous support. We eagerly anticipate this edition of the African Beach Games, a true celebration of sport.”

In the previous edition, held in 2019, Senegal emerged victorious in an exhilarating final against Morocco, while Nigeria secured the bronze medal in the men’s competition. The women’s tournament saw Cape Verde, the host nation, claim the gold medal after a stunning victory over Algeria.

With the return of beach soccer to the African Beach Games, fans can expect an incredible display of skill, teamwork, and passion as teams from across the continent battle it out for the coveted titles.
