ABSU President Delivers Message of Hope at Uganda Beach Soccer Assembly.

The 11th Ordinary General Assembly of the Uganda Beach Soccer Association witnessed a momentous event as Mr Mahmud Hadejia, the President of the African Beach Soccer Union, graced the occasion.

In a gathering brimming with passion and unwavering dedication to the captivating world of beach soccer, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Buganda Royal Institute in Kampala, this assembly brought together beach soccer enthusiasts, officials, and delegates from all corners of Uganda. The agenda was clear – to chart the course for the future of this exhilarating sport on Ugandan shores.

The African Beach Soccer Union, under the astute leadership of Mr. Mahmud, has been at the forefront of promoting and nurturing the development of beach soccer across the African continent. His presence at the Uganda congress was not merely symbolic; it served as a tangible demonstration of the union’s unwavering commitment to fostering growth and excellence in the sport, not only in Uganda but throughout Africa.

During his compelling address, Mr. Mahmud delivered a powerful message, one that resonated deeply with everyone present. He acknowledged and celebrated the remarkable progress achieved by the Uganda Beach Soccer Association in promoting the sport within their nation. With an air of excitement, he joined the delegate to celebrate the news of a Ugandan club’s participation in the upcoming 2023 World Winners Cup, scheduled to be held later this year in Italy. This achievement is a testament to the relentless dedication and hard work of Ugandan beach soccer promoters and enthusiasts, he added.

During Mr Mahmud’s address, a poignant moment was his heartfelt appreciation for the support extended by the Ugandan Beach Soccer through the Club Licensing Program for Nigerian beach soccer. This support, generously provided earlier in the year and facilitated by Ms. Phoebe, has played an instrumental role in advancing the sport in Nigeria. It exemplifies the African Beach Soccer Union’s commitment to leveraging its vast knowledge network to nurture beach soccer growth across the African continent.

The 11th Ordinary General Assembly was more than just a gathering; it was a celebration of beach soccer’s enduring spirit and its potential to unite communities. It showcased the unwavering determination of Ugandan beach soccer enthusiasts to continue their journey of growth and development within the sport.

Mr. Deo Mutabazi, the Chairman of the Ugandan Beach Soccer and ABSU’s first Vice President, aptly summarized their remarkable journey:

“We remain steadfast in upholding the governance principles outlined in our statutes, fulfilling our governance responsibilities, and ensuring the sustained stability of the association. Despite the challenging economic conditions, we remain dedicated to serving our members diligently. We have meticulously attended to all our statutory obligations with utmost care and commitment.”

– Deo Mutabazi, Chairman UBSA and ABSU First Vice President.

As the assembly drew to a close, there hung in the air a renewed sense of purpose and unity among those in attendance. The message of hope, unity, and progress, skillfully delivered by ABSU President Mr. Mahmud Hadejia, had left an indelible mark on the hearts of all. The future of beach soccer in Uganda and across the African continent shines brighter than ever, thanks to the passionate efforts of individuals, leaders, and organizations fervently supporting the sport.

The passion for beach soccer in Africa is on the rise, and the African Beach Soccer Union continues to champion its holistic development, fostering unity and hope for the soccer played barefoot on the African sands.
