FIFA Secretary General, Fatma Samoura, recently concluded her three-day visit to Seychelles, highlighting the country’s commitment to hosting the 13th FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2025.
During her visit, Samoura held talks with Marie-Celine Zialor, the Minister for Youth, Sports & Family Affairs in Seychelles. They discussed various topics, and initiatives, with emphasis on the importance of the development of beach soccer, women’s football, and youth participation in the region.

During her visit, Samoura also visited the Seychelles Football Federation and learned about their work in promoting the sport under the guidance of Mr. Elvis Chetty. She had the opportunity to witness a thrilling semi-final match of the ongoing Beach Soccer Tournament at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex, coinciding with the National Day celebrations. The tournament features national teams from Seychelles, Burundi, Madagascar, a Seychelles U20 side, and three local clubs.
What a wonderful experience at Roche Caïman Sports Complex where I witnessed the Tri-Nations National Day Beach Soccer Tournament semifinal between Burundi 🇧🇮 & Madagascar 🇲🇬. The technical skill and extraordinary teamwork on the sand pitch showcased the thrills and joy of this beautiful sport 🏖️⚽️
